Cimplora vs Pay44

Writing an honest comparison against the most established product in your category is awkward, because the first paragraph has to concede the point. So: Pay44 is more proven than Cimplora, by a distance, and if that is what matters most to you then you already have your answer.

Short answer
Pay44 has the proof. Cimplora has the rotations.
Pay44 carries 4.87 stars from 12,550+ App Store ratings and 21+ calculators across two app stores. Cimplora has no ratings at all yet. What Cimplora has is a model of the schedule itself — 14/14, 21/7, 2-2-3, 9/80, day rate — and what you keep after tax.

Where Pay44 is ahead, stated first

Proof at scale. 4.87 stars from more than 12,550 App Store ratings. Cimplora has none. If you are handing your pay details to an unknown free tool, that difference is a real reason to prefer Pay44, and we are not going to argue you out of it.

Breadth of calculators. 21+ of them. Cimplora is one app with many screens rather than a library of separate tools, which is a different shape and will suit some people less.

Two app stores. Pay44 ships on iOS and Android. Cimplora is on the web and Android; there is no iPhone app today.

The gap that actually matters

A per-paycheck calculator assumes a paycheck shaped like a week, or two weeks, with the same hours in each. A rotation is not shaped like that.

Overtime is federal and weekly, and it is calculated per workweek — not per hitch and not per pay period. On 12-hour days a 7-day stretch is 84 hours: 40 regular and 44 at time and a half. Two of those make a 14-day hitch. If a tool cannot express “14 on, 14 off, 12-hour days”, it cannot get that split right, and the split is most of your money.

Two worked examples of what that costs, both from our own guides:

One honest caveat

Everything above describes Pay44 as an independent site audit found it in October 2026, and “not shown” means exactly that — not shown on the pages that were checked, which is not the same as absent. Pay44 is an active product and may well have added any of this since. Both web calculators are free and neither needs an account, so check for yourself rather than taking our word for it.

Which should you use?

If you work a standard week and want the most proven tool, use Pay44. If your schedule is a rotation, a hitch or a day rate, try Cimplora — and judge it on whether the numbers match your stub, because that is the only test that matters and it is the one we would rather be judged on than a star rating we have not earned yet.
