The short version: Cimplora has no account to close. Almost everything you enter already lives only on your own device. One tap inside the app wipes that and tells our server to erase the little it holds for you. It takes effect immediately.
In the Cimplora app (or on cimplora.com):
If you can't open the app — you uninstalled it, or changed device — email support@cimplora.com and ask us to delete your data. There is no account, so please send the request from the device if you still have it, or tell us you no longer have access and we will confirm what we can and cannot find. We reply to every request.
Cimplora stores very little away from your device, because it is built to keep your figures local. Deleting removes all of the following:
| What | Where it was | Outcome |
|---|---|---|
| Your pay, schedule, deductions, budget, savings, notes and any attached photos | Your own device only | Erased |
| Your scan-credit balance | Our server | Erased |
| Your pay-benchmark contribution (industry, two-letter region, annual pay) — if you opted in | Our server | Erased |
| Your invite record (your device code and the code of whoever invited you) — if you redeemed one | Our server | Erased |
| Your random device code | Our server | Erased |
There is one exception, and we would rather state it plainly than bury it.
When you buy scan credits, we store a record that that particular purchase was already credited. On deletion we overwrite your device code in that record, so what remains identifies a Google Play or Stripe transaction and no longer points to you or your device.
Why it isn't deleted outright: that record is what stops the same purchase being redeemed twice. Removing it would turn a privacy control into a way of claiming free credits over and over. It holds no name, no email, no figures and — after deletion — no link to you.
Retention period: the anonymised purchase record is kept indefinitely, because the replay protection has to outlive the account it protected. Everything else listed above is erased immediately and is not retained in backups beyond the ordinary rotation of our database host.
You can also clear the on-device half yourself at any time by clearing Cimplora's app storage, or your browser storage for cimplora.com. That removes everything local, but it does not tell our server to erase your balance, benchmark contribution or invite record — so use Privacy & your data → Delete all my data if you want both halves gone.
